Dear SOBT Families,
Registration for The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre’s 2017 Summer Intensive (SI) is now open for current SOBT students in Level 3 through OBT2.
Our SI takes place again this year for six weeks, July 10 through August 19, and is available as either a two, four or six week session. Under certain circumstances there is flexibility with modifying which weeks students would attend. This year’s intensive will feature classes in several different dance forms, different guest teachers every two weeks, and workshops in various dance and performance based subjects.
Registration for all programs is limited and on a first come basis. In the case of the SI record number of students attended last year, and it is expected to be the same for this year. It is recommended students register as soon as possible to hold a place as class sizes are limited. In opening registration early it is the hope that all SOBT students will be able to attend the SI.
Students should register for summer classes in the level they are currently registered for in the Annual Session (AS), unless otherwise informed by their teacher. As in years past students will be informed of level advancements for next year’s AS prior to the start of the new school year.
All SOBT students are expected to attend at least some portion of the SI. For students who plan to audition and attend non-SOBT summer programs or intensives, SOBT asks you communicate plans to the School Director prior to audition or attendance. This may be communicated by e-mail to schoolofobt@obt.org and the message will be passed on to Mr. Jones.
You do not need to complete a new registration form for the SI, though this is an excellent time to contact the school with any updates to your family’s contact information or child’s permission to leave unescorted, permission to be picked up by individuals, etc.
For the 2017 SI tuition may be paid in full or in four equal amounts, with the three subsequent payments auto-charged on the original date of purchase for the following three months.

Scholarship Information
A limited number of tuition scholarships are available. The due date for scholarship application materials to be completed and submitted to TADS and The School of OBT is March 31. You will be notified of your scholarship status April 15. To apply click here.
