Levels Clarification for the 2014/15 Annual Session

I wanted to take this time to clarify information concerning levels next year.  After consultation with the faculty, we have decided to separate Level 1 into two distinct levels: Level 1A and 1B.  Level 1B represents advancement from last year and the curriculum and vocabulary with reflect this.  A decision was made to keep Levels 2 and 3 largely intact and advance each level as a whole.  This means that students in these levels will not be repeating the level, rather that the class will advance as whole and like Level 1B, the curriculum and the vocabulary will be significantly increased and will continue to develop forward.  We have made changes in the schedule to help facilitate this; for example, Level 2 will now meet three days a week for 90 minutes, as opposed to three days a week for 60 minutes as they did last year.  Level 3 will also see an increase in their schedule; instead of meeting three times a week for 90 minutes, Level 3 will now meet 4 times a week for 90 minutes and there will be an additional pointe class for girls and a boy’s class for the boys.   Levels 4 and 5 will also see their schedule expanded to 5 days a week, and Level 6 will have additional class offerings.  A complete schedule for the Annual Session will be posted later today.  Thank you for your understanding as we build a stronger, more exciting program for all students!
