OBT School - Halloween - October 31, 2019

A message from Ms. Tonner:

All students in levels Primay, 1Boo, 2A, 1 & 2 Boys, 5, 6, and OooooBT2 at the Portland campus, and all students in 1, 3, and PD at the West Linn campus are invited to don a costume to class on Thursday, October 31, 2018.

Costumes should allow for the perfect Pirouette, the grandest Grand Plie, and the biggest Battement and should not interfere with any range of motion or cover your face (no masks). Also, we need to be aware of our youngest dancers who will be here on Halloween; no gory costumes, please!

Come one, come all, to class in your finest garments, your scariest suits, your frilliest fineries on Halloween!

Due to space constraints, students are limited to two guests for Family Observation periods. Due to limited space at our Portland location, guests are asked to utilize street parking. We ask that you please arrive on time, as late arrivals may not be admitted into the studio. We welcome younger children to watch their older siblings during class, though should their attention start to wane we ask that they quietly step outside the studio so class may continue free of distraction. Also, please reserve all conversations until after the class has finished.

Photography and videography is prohibited during class and mobile phones must be switched off. If you are unable to adhere to these rules, you may be asked to leave the classroom.

February 5, 2019 - Classes Canceled at All Campuses

For tonight, February 5, classes at OBT School's Portland and West Linn campuses are canceled due to inclement weather. This includes Pre-Ballet and the Adult workshop.

February 4, 2019 - Classes Will Proceed

For tonight, February 4, classes at OBT School's Portland campus will proceed as regularly scheduled.

We ask that families use caution when deciding whether or not to send their child to class. No student will be penalized if they do not attend class due to inclement weather. Please notify the school by phone or e-mail if the student will not attend classes this evening.

OBT School - Inclement Weather Policy

OBT School's Inclement Weather Policy

The Portland campus follows Portland Public School District’s decisions regarding inclement weather closures or delays, and the West Linn campus follows the West Linn-Wilsonville School District’s decisions.

If either school district closes for the entire day then the corresponding OBT School campus will not hold either morning or evening classes.
If either school district closes early and/or cancels evening activities, then the corresponding OBT School campus will not hold evening classes, including Pre-Ballet, Preparatory Division and Adult Workshops.

If either school district has a late start then the corresponding OBT School campus will not hold morning classes, including the Preprofessional Division.

In the event that either school district does not close, open late or release early, then the corresponding OBT School campus will proceed with classes, unless otherwise stated, and we ask that families use caution when deciding whether or not to send their child to class. No student will be penalized if they do not attend class due to inclement weather. Please notify the school by phone or e-mail if the student will not attend classes that day.
